Combined Charitable Campaign
The Ramsey County Charitable Campaign takes place each fall and provides employees countywide with an opportunity to financially support nonprofit organizations that enhance the quality of life in our community.
Every employee contribution – large and small – can make a substantial difference for someone in need.
There are several opportunities to participate in the fall 2019 charitable campaign.
Giving Grams and online auction - Oct. 14 - Nov. 1
Giving Grams - postcards featuring various messages of appreciation and your choice of several candy options - can be purchased and sent to any Ramsey County employee.
Proceeds from each Giving Gram sold are shared equally among participating charitable federations.
An online charitable auction featuring approximately 50 donated items from community businesses and Ramsey County departments will be available to all employees countywide.
Payroll deduction pledges - Oct. 28 - Nov. 15
iPledge allows employees to conveniently make donations through payroll deduction. Donations are tax-deductible and can be made to any of the federations listed below.
If your favorite charity isn’t a member of one of the federations, Community Health Charities, Community Shares of Minnesota and Greater Twin Cities United Way allow you to designate your gift to any 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Payroll pledges made during the campaign apply to 2020 pay periods. Existing pledges do not carry over – you must renew your pledge each year.
Federations are organizations that represent a variety of nonprofits that share common goals. The county is partnering with eight federations during the 2019 charitable campaign:
- Community Health Charities*.
- Community Shares of Minnesota*.
- Greater Twin Cities United Way*.
- Minnesota Environmental Fund.
- Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless.
- PeaceMaker Minnesota.
- Ramsey County Service Fund.
*Donations can be designated to any 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Some federations allow you to designate your gift to one of their member organizations. For instance, if you're an animal lover, you can designate your donation to Community Health Charities to go to Can Do Canines, an organization that trains and pairs service dogs with people with disabilities.
The federations marked with an asterisk above allow you to designate your donation to any 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Department events provide employees with additional opportunities to financially support organizations that strengthen our community.
